Our Initiatives & Programs

Our Initiatives & Programs

At FTA, our programs are designed to move beyond rhetoric and deliver measurable impact. Each initiative is rooted in research, collaboration, and community participation, ensuring that the fight against corruption translates into better governance and improved quality of life for Nigerians.

Integrity Heroes Awards

Since 2010, the Integrity Heroes Awards has stood as Nigeria’s most prestigious recognition platform for honesty and ethical leadership. Each year, FTA honors public officials, community leaders, civil society actors, and institutions who have displayed exceptional courage and integrity in service. Beyond recognition, the Awards spark a ripple effect: encouraging others to embrace transparency, nurturing role models for the next generation, and reminding the nation that integrity pays.

National Transparency & Accountability Summit

The National Transparency & Accountability Summit is a high-level dialogue that convenes Nigeria’s brightest minds and key actors in governance. Policymakers, anti-corruption agencies, civil society, the private sector, media, and academia come together to discuss pressing governance challenges. Through plenary sessions, panel discussions, and policy roundtables, the Summit produces actionable recommendations that feed directly into national reform agendas. It is more than an event — it is a movement for systemic change.

Public Sector Ethics Training Program

FTA understands that sustainable reform begins with capable, ethical institutions. Our Public Sector Ethics Training Program equips civil servants and government officials with practical skills to identify and manage ethical risks. Covering areas such as conflict of interest, financial disclosures, procurement integrity, and compliance with Nigeria’s anti-corruption framework, the program ensures that officials can deliver services transparently and fairly. The outcome is a stronger public sector that earns and sustains public trust.

Youth for Transparency Initiative (YTI)

Nigeria’s youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow; they are changemakers today. Through the Youth for Transparency Initiative, FTA provides platforms for young people to develop leadership skills, civic knowledge, and advocacy tools. From integrity clubs in schools and universities to nationwide campaigns and fellowships, YTI empowers young Nigerians to champion accountability in their communities. This initiative nurtures a generation of reform-minded leaders committed to building a corruption-free Nigeria.

Media for Accountability Project

The media plays a vital role in exposing corruption and shaping public opinion. The Media for Accountability Project enhances this role by supporting journalists with training, mentorship, and investigative grants. By equipping media practitioners to produce accurate, evidence-based, and impactful stories, FTA ensures that governance reporting goes beyond headlines to drive accountability. The project also fosters collaboration between journalists and anti-corruption institutions, amplifying the reach and effectiveness of their work

Local Government Accountability Project (LGAP)

Local governments are the closest tier of government to citizens, yet they are often the most opaque. LGAP bridges this gap by introducing systems for budget monitoring, service delivery tracking, and citizen feedback at the grassroots level. Communities are mobilized to hold leaders accountable, while local officials receive training and tools to improve governance. By bringing transparency to local governments, LGAP ensures that public resources meet real community needs and that development projects deliver measurable impact.
